Barr, 34, will work alongside 23-year-old playing assistants Skye and Jordyn Billings in 2019.

She said the twins’ enthusiasm for coaching was a positive for the Hampden league club.

“I last coached Jordyn and Skye to an under 17 premiership back in 2011, so I’ve known the girls for a long time,” Barr said. 

“I’ve been out of coaching for five or six years, doing some other stuff around the club, and watching the junior development here over the last few years I know it’s a group I think I can provide something to as a senior coach.

“I am just excited to work with some young and eager people and have a bit more of a whole-club approach to the way we do things next year.”

Skye said Barr had the attributes to be a successful open grade coach.

“She can be very stern which is great and to the point which is what we kind of need with a young group,” she said.

“But also the positive talk and positive vibe around the club and the open (grade) girls, I think that’s what’s going to really help us throughout the year.

“We all get on so well and no matter if we’ve got criticism or praise, everyone takes it on the chin and gets on with it.”

Barr said the Eagles, who made a first semi-final last season, would start pre-season in February.
