Roberts was revealed as Jack Kenna’s replacement at the club’s annual general meeting on Wednesday night.
The father-of-three joined the Terang Mortlake board six years ago “to make sure there was a club for my boys”.
His sons Toby, Henry and Charlie play football for the Bloods.
“I want to keep the club up and running and try and encourage kids in minor leagues to have a crack at a major league,” he said.
Roberts said taking on the presidency was a natural progression.
“I was vice president to Jack last season and junior vice president the year before so it’s probably my turn,” he said.
Luke Heffernan has stepped up as vice president with Lisa Hobbs filling the junior vice president role.
