Street party: Warrnambool’s CBD will be transformed into a family-friendly Christmas wonderland when the city hosts A Very Liebig Christmas on Friday night. Liebig Street between Koroit and Timor Streets will be filled with street stalls, live entertainment, performers and decorations from 5pm to 11pm as part of the City Centre Renewal project.

Launch: Amateur historian Alan McLean will launch a new book “Mystery at Moonlight Head”, which traces the shipwreck of the Fiji, at 11am at Flagstaff Hill Maritme Museum.

Family: Woodford Primary School will be the venue for the annual Christmas Market on Saturday. Designer stalls, award-winning artists and delectable food vendors will impress expected crowds between 10am and 3pm in the school’s annual fundraiser.
Run: The Warrnambool Gift will be held at The Friendly Societies Park from 10am to 4.30pm on Saturday.
Retail: The Local Place in Koroit is celebrating its first birthday with an open day event from 10am to 4pm offering an array of south-west home made, grown and produced goods.
Concert: Warrnambool’s Seventh Day Adbentist Church is hosting a Christmas Concert on Saturday from 6pm.
Children: A family-focused performance of the classic Dr Seuss tale of How the Grinch Stole Christmas featuring Deon Cameron as Mr Grinch and music by Cantori will be held at St Joseph’s parish in Warrnambool from 2pm to 3pm.
Dance: The Warrnambool and District Dance Club are holding their annual Christmas Dance at the Temperance Hall on Koroit Street from 8pm to midnight.
Mudfest: The Tower Hill Challenge is on Saturday. The annual obstacle event includes a 3km, 6km or 15 km race from the crater to the Koroit Football Netball Club where live music, food and entertainment will follow.
Guides: Warrnambool Girl Guides will celebrate 90 years in the city on Saturday with an array of memorabilia, displays and workshops from 1pm at its Manifold Street headquarters.

SUNDAY
Summertime: The Summer Night Markets will kick off the season with a Christmas market on Warrnambool’s Civic Green from 9am to 1pm, giving shoopers a chance to stock up on food, art and craft, coffee, clothing, and gifts.
Beach: The Sea Shepherd are hosting a beach clean at Warrnambool’s Blue Hole from 12 noon to 2pm. Volunteers are asked to bring their own gloves, be sun smart and wear closed in shoes for a two-hour effort to help clear some of the 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic that are believed to now live in our oceans.
Horse-racing: The Warrnambool Racecourse will host the Jericho Cup on Sunday. Grafton road gates open at 11am.
Sunday session: Matchbox Summer Sunday Garden Bar will launch its weekly event on Sunday afternoon at the Fletcher Jones Garden. Cocktails, beers, ciders and mocktails will be joined by some summer tunes and food vans from 3pm to late.
Carols: The third annual Koroit Carols by the Railway will be held at the old railway station from 3pm to 5pm. The family-friendly event will feature duo Angela Kenna and Keelan Mast, choirs and Barbara Brooks. Bring a picnic or enjoy the sausage sizzle. The famous Lions Club Christmas Cakes will be available too.
Song: Former Warrnambool musician Jonathan Cox will be performing his annual recital at the Mozart Hall on Gillies Street from 7.30pm. Tickets are available at the door.
Market: Warrnambool’s regular Fresh Market is on at Lake Pertobe from 8.30am to 1pm. Regular favourite produce and products will be on offer with an emphasis on celebrating and shopping local.
History: A collection of military information and artefacts will be on display at the Camperdown RSL from 10am to 3pm. Historian Alan Flemming is also offering assistance with researching family military history.
Market: The Undercover market is on at the Warrnambool Showgrounds from 9am to 1pm.
