The captain scored 94, made two stumpings and produced a run out in its hard fought 35-run win over Brierly-Christ Church at Port Fairy’s Avery’s Paddock on Sunday.
Williams, who has recorded 84, 150, 71, 134 in previous matches this season, steered Creek to 7-182.
Bulls brothers Nathan Murphy (46) and Mark Murphy (26) put on 60 runs for the fourth wicket in reply to put pressure on the reigning one-day champions.
But the breakthrough came with Damon Cooper catching Mark Murphy off the bowling of Shashan Silva with Brierly-Christ Church on 109.
Russells Creek tore through the tail with Matt Petherick, who claimed 4-36, snaring the final wicket.
Williams, who was named man of the match, praised Creek’s bowling attack.
He said Petherick, Silva, Joe Kenna and Blake Evans “know how to do a job in big games”.
“When the two Murphy boys got going there it was a really hard slog but patience is the key and runs on the board always helps in a big final,” he said.
Vice captain Jimmy Elford said Creek embraced the challenge.
“The boys started off slow but towards the end when the pressure was on we stood up,” he said.
Russells Creek won all three finals – twenty20, one-day and two-day – in 2017-18.
