The all-rounder, 41, will be part of the Brierly-Christ Church team to take on Russells Creek in the Warrnambool and District Cricket Association one-day final at Avery’s Paddock in Port Fairy.
Mungean will be joined in the team by his sons, Tyler and Zavier.
“I played in a premiership with my dad when I was a young player and it is something I look back on with a lot of pride,” Mungean said.
“It’s always good playing with the boys but it would certainly be special if we could win a final together.”
The Mungean family’s connection to Brierly-Christ Church goes beyond the division one trio, with Jason’s daughter, Jacoba, coaching the club’s under 17s girls’ team.
With the Mungean family also involved in football and netball, Jason and his wife Rachel have a practical agreement to make sure sport fits in around the task of running a dairy farm.
“During the cricket season Rachel does the milking so I can play cricket and I do it in the winter so she can play and coach netball,” he said.
The Mungean family made the move to Brierly-Christ Church this season from Nirranda after the Knights stepped back from division one.
“The boys were keen to keep playing division one and I thought I would have one more crack at it,” he said.
“Russells Creek will be hard to beat but we are improving each week, cricket’s a funny game.”
