An eight o’clock start on Saturday morning would sound daunting for some but not for the exercise enthusiasts who complete five kilometres at Lake Pertobe each week.

Warrnambool parkrun celebrates two years since its first event on Saturday and event director Jarrod Mast said it was the social side that kept bringing people back.
He said a post-run coffee is always a highlight of the morning.
“That’s definitely part of it,” he said.
The celebratory theme for the event is ‘crazy’ – crazy clothes, hair, colours, socks or just silly antics.
Mr Mast said there will be a special cake.
“We will have a cake this weekend, donated by one of our regular participants, Lindsay Stow,” he said.
Last Saturday Thomas Byrne became the first person to reach 100 parkruns at Warrnambool.
“Tom is a great example of the sort of people we have come along to parkrun. Here every week, always greeting everyone with a smile, and often has a large amount of his extended family participating,” Mr Mast said.
Parkrun requires about seven volunteers each Saturday and Mr Mast said it was always looking for more.
“We always love to have new volunteers,” he said.
Warrnambool parkrun starts 8am Saturday at Lake Pertobe adventure park in Warrnambool.
