The 19-year-old leg spinner finished with 1-21 off just two overs in the 33-run victory. She claimed the wicket of the dangerous Katey Martin with the third delivery of her last over.
A brilliant ball from Wareham beat Martin with player of the match Alyssa Healy doing the rest with the gloves to complete the stumping.
Captain Meg Lanning won the toss and elected to bat leaving Healy to do the damage to the Kiwi bowlers to finish as the Southern Stars’ top scorer with 53.
