On Tuesday the group celebrated the milestone by reflecting on the changing face of youth mental health support.
Headspace Warrnambool centre manager Anne Waters said her team were pleased to have supported the growing needs of the young people in the south-west.
“We have now seen the entire youth population in the region come through our doors,” she said.
“It’s confirmation of the need for such services in the region.”
Celebrating ten since years first opening its doors, Headspace staff joined with partnering group Brophy Family and Youth Services and an array of youth and mental health agencies in marking the occasion with cake.
Located on Timor Street Headspace works with people aged 12 to 25 in the key areas of mental health, physical health, social and vocational support, and alcohol and drug use.
Headspace CEO Jason Trethowan used the opportunity to remind community members of the importance of the service.
“With 75 per cent of mental health problems emerging before the age of 25, we are managing issues early which helps prevent them from becoming more serious and longer lasting,” he said.
