SCA president Tony Trainor said the 42nd national championships, which is being held at the Laang range, will be a record smashing event.
“Almost 400 shooters from all Australian states and the ACT will be making the trip to Laang,” he said.
“I am pleased to see the Australian competitors will be joined by another strong contingent from New Zealand, the South Pacific and South-east Asia for the three-day event.”
The three-day event will run across Friday, Saturday and Sunday with 75 targets on the first two days and 50 on the final day to bring the total to 200 targets across the contest.
Trainor said the weekend’s competition would have an added incentive for the shooters.
“We will also see some of the country’s top competitors shoot-out, not just for the trophies and prizes, but also for the honour of representing their country at the 41st FITSAC World Sporting Championships in England next July,” he said.
