The 12-year-old, who idolises Juventus and Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, completed a stellar season where he won a premiership, best and fairest and golden boot in the South West Victoria Football Association under 12s with a spot in Geelong’s under 13 squad for next season.
Anders, who played predominately as a left winger for the Wolves this season, said he had aspirations to play as high as he could
“I wanted to make it into the premier league and hopefully in the future to the Socceroos (Australian National Team),” he said.
“(The kids at the trials) were pretty good and they passed the ball a lot and they were really good to be around.”
The St Pius primary student, who follows popular European giant clubs in Italy’s Juventus, France’s Paris St Germain and Spain’s Barcelona, credited his teammates for his breakout season.
Anders said it was hard to leave his close friends behind in the move.
“I started playing here two years ago and it’s going to be a big opportunity for me (to move on) and I am going to miss all my friends at the Wolves,” he said.
“When I come back down here I will make sure I still hang out with them.”
The rising star highlighted being balanced on both sides of his body as an area for him to improve in.
“I want to improve on my left foot and my passing,” the right footer said.
