Chair of the Dennington Day Out committee Amy Atwell said the event kicked off with a Remembrance Day service led by the RSL, with wreath laying and a minute’s silence.
“I think it’s our biggest year yet with 3000 plus people through the doors,” she said.
“We’ve had great support from the local community groups.”
About $23,500 was raised which will be used to purchase more play equipment for the school. She said the day was so popular that of the 10 food vendors, half sold out.
Now in its seventh year, the day included a bucking bull, rides, jumping castles, market, petting zoo, animal farm, live entertainment and free activity stations.
Mrs Atwell said that during the day every class at the school performed a dance that they’d learnt.
