In fact the Kardinia Childcare Centre educator said she hasn’t given it a great deal of thought at all.

This week however she is urging the community to help her restart the conversation about organ donation and possibly make the decision process a little easier.

Ms Magrath wants to screen the film Dying to Live  at Warrnambool’s Capitol Cinema on November 29.

She needs to sell 50 tickets by November 16 or the film will bypass the south-west in it’s national tour.

“In the USA everyone is an organ donor unless they specify otherwise,” Ms Magrath said. “But here in Australia we have one of the lowest rates of organ donation in the world.

“This isn’t a fundraiser and I understand it’s a personal choice but I think its worth opening up the conversation.”

Dying to Live is a 2018 documentary film about organ transplantation in Australia. 

The 91-minute film follows a group of Australian organ and tissue donors and recipients and their fight to change the country’s donation numbers.
