The decision paid off, with Mrs Wade taking out the fashions on the field competition, from a strong cohort of 29 brightly dressed fashionistas.
“I came for the first time at May and I loved it,” she said. “I got third there in the traditional lady of the day competition.”
The best millinery award went to seasoned fashions on the field competitor Jazmin Fitzgerald, from Geelong.
She took a risk with her hat, sourcing a sublime pale pink piece from a Queensland milliner, not her usual one. “I went with something different and it’s paid off,” she said.
