The 19-year-old right-arm leg spinner has stamped her claim for a spot in the first XI for the tournament across Australia’s warm up games against first-round opponent Pakistan in Malaysia.
Wareham made her twenty20 debut against New Zealand in September and has added six wickets to her name across six games at international level.
But selectors have a big call to make with star left-arm spinner Jess Jonassen back from a knee injury and available to play.
But the three-pronged spin attack of Wareham, Sophie Molineux and Ash Gardner starred in Malaysia, which could be enough to hold their spots for Saturday.
Play is expected to start at 4pm in Guyana (7am Saturday in Australia) with squads to be announced before the start of play.
