When the township hosts their annual Dennington’s Day Out on Sunday they’ll be not only making money for local groups but also joining a global time of remembrance.
Hosted by the township’s St John’s Primary School, proceeds from the event will be shared with the Dennington Cricket Club, the Dennington Football Netball Club, the Dennington Bowls Club and the Dennington Kinder.
Held on Remembrance Day marking the end of the First World War has meant the community will also stop to pay its respects at 11am.
Now in its seventh year, the family-friendly event will include a bucking bull and inflatables, large pop-up shop market with locally-made items, a petting zoo, animal farm, as well as an array of live entertainment and free activity stations.
Organiser Amy Atwell said the event was aimed at families.
"There are plenty of things for kids to enjoy,” she said.
“There’s lots of free ways to play and create such as a messy play station and a recyclable imagination area.”
Ms Atwell said the community had shown immense support.
“We have had support from many local businesses to allow the day to continue growing each year,” she said. “We are also able to offer free entry which provides an opportunity for everyone to be involved and have some fun.”
Dennington’s Day Out is on Sunday from 10.30am to 3.30pm.
