Ex-TAC Cup forward Charlie Lee and 2011 Roosters premiership player Alister Porter will return to Friendly Societies’ Park to play for new coach Mat Battistello. 

Utility Jock Blair will provide a spark after missing 12 months with a shoulder injury.

Lee, 21, is a teaching student at Federation University and will commute to Ballarat for study.

The Greater Western Victoria Rebels graduate had a season off of football in 2018 after a stint at Ballarat league club East Point.

He will add creativity to the Roosters’ forward line.

“I’ll be living in Warrnambool so it was an easy decision to play in Warrnambool, back at home,” Lee said.

“It’s good to be around all the mates I played junior footy with and with family as well.”

Blair, 23, is in the early stages of his recovery after a shoulder operation.

“It’s pretty good at the moment. I only got it done three weeks ago,” he said.

“It’s six months out of action, so I should be right be the end of March and round one hopefully.

“But it doesn’t matter if I miss the first few games.”

Blair, who is a plumber by trade, spent four months overseas which delayed his surgery.

Porter, who will cross from Warrnambool and District league club Merrivale, is also recovering from a serious injury.

He missed the entire 2018 season after knee surgery.

“He’ll be really good, an outside runner on the wing,” Blair said.

“I heard he was really good when he played in 2011.”

South Warrnambool will start its pre-season training on Friday night.
