Over 170 races have entered the multi-class South Coast Nationals, which is the South Coast Drag Racing Association’s first event of the new season.
Super stock, competition bike, super compact, supercharged outlaws, top sportsman, modified, super sedan, modified bike, super street, junior dragster and super gas classes all feature on the program for Saturday and Sunday.
Warrnambool Drag Racing Association will not have any racers heading down to the event with Tony Frost repairing his two competition bikes and Steve Griffin opting not to race.
But former Warrnambool resident Justin Russell, who is the ANDRA number one ranked driver in the supercharged outlaws class, will be travelling from Colac to compete in the event and to defend his title.
Gates open at 9am on Saturday with the first qualifiers to being at 10am. The competition heats up on Sunday with the elimination races beginning at 10am.
