New baubles, lights and decorations are being installed in the CBD this week, ahead of their ‘lighting up’ at the Very Liebig Christmas party on November 30.
Warrnambool City Council events and promotions coordinator Bec Elmes said there was 280 new festoon lights, 54 baubles and 14 illuminated Christmas decorations with a mix of banners to light up the main street.
“They will be turned on at A Very Liebig Christmas,” she said.
“Liebig Street will be turned into a Christmas-themed wonderland, with street stalls packed with gift ideas, entertainment from street performers and a range of alfresco dining options.”
She said the festoon string lights were permanent and highlighted the restaurant end of Liebig Street.
Electrician Darrell Hose, who installed the new decorations, said he couldn’t wait to see them lit up.
“They have come up very well,” he said.
