Port Fairy has unveiled its first big signing ahead of the 2019 Hampden league netball season.
The Seagulls have confirmed former key defender Sarah Moroney will return to the club.
Moroney, a former league A grade MVP and runner-up best and fairest, said she could not wait for round one.
"I am really excited to be home, it’s nice to be back," she said.
"I have been wanting to come back but this year I went travelling so I couldn't commit, so I have been pretty keen to get back and now I am back in the purple and gold.”
The 23-year-old spent the past year travelling overseas and said she would travel from Melbourne each week to play.
She last played for the Seagulls in 2016, the following year they won the club’s first A grade (open) premiership.
Now Moroney wants to return to her best form and hopefully be a part of Port Fairy’s next flag.
"Pre-season is going to be very tough, I really enjoyed myself overseas," she said.
"But it will be nice to get into pre-season and start the year, I am really looking forward to it.
"Personally I am not really sure what to expect or how I am going to go.
"I think I just need to really get some fitness behind me and hopefully the ball skills and all of that netball stuff comes back hopefully.
“I am really looking forward to trying to get one (premiership) with Port Fairy.”
Moroney is expected to again play as a defender.
