Show secretary Anita Watts said the crowds ignored the windy weather to enjoy a feast of family fun activities.
Mrs Watts said the $20 wristbands that allowed children unlimited rides were very popular as was the animal nursery and reptile displays.
Separate areas for activities for younger and older children were set up so the older children did not knock over the youngsters.
“A lot of families with younger children have six or seven things they can do,” Mrs Watts said.
“We are keeping it as a family-oriented show and keeping it as an affordable entry,” she said.
The show’s resurgence in the past few years is due not only to its focus on family activities but also the big contribution by the Watts family.
Mrs Watts is joined on the show’s committee by her daughter Rhea, who is show president, and another daughter Simone, who is treasurer.
Mrs Watts’s husband Michael is also on the show committee.
