Muscular Dystrophy supporters were hoping there was no counting sheep at the Warrnambool Showgrounds on Friday night as they hosted their inaugural 24-hour Shear-A-Thon.

The fundraiser saw father and son team Roger and Corey Mifsud compete in a marathon sheep shear hoping to raise more than $10,000 for Muscular Dystrophy Awareness.
The pair said they had been long time friends with the Gillin family whose sons, Chris and Aaron, have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Aaron Gillin died last year at the age of 24 but his older brother Chris, 27, continues to be an active fund raiser for Muscular Dystrophy Australia.
Roger and Corey set themselves a combined target of 1500 composite lambs shorn in the 24 hours.
Within an hour of commencing the event at 5pm on Friday, the pair had collectively shorn 81, with Roger ahead by three sheep.
