The Kangaroos have signed the three-time Maskell Medalist for the 2019 Hampden league season following two years as coach of Cobden.
Dare, a former VFL player with Port Melbourne and the North Ballarat Roosters, said he believed Hamilton had a bright future which he wanted to be a part of.
"I look at their list and I think they have got a lot of potential, I think Hamilton has definitely got a lot of upside," he said.
"They definitely showed during the year that they are a more than capable side and definitely I think a finals appearance is on the cards for them in the future.
"Their under 18s were quite strong this year and their reserves played finals and hopefully I can help filter that through and in some ways help them have success in the senior grade.
"And they have some really good young talls and hopefully I can get a chance to work with them and teach them a few things and make them better players."
The 28-year-old, who stands at an imposing 196 centimetres, said he was confident he would be a key contributor for the Roos despite battling a knee injury this season.
Dare said was excited about the role the Kangaroos wanted him to play following chats with coach Matt Dunn.
"We definitely had a couple of chats about where I am going to fit in for the club and they definitely see me as being the number one ruckman," he said.
"That's another big thing for me I did want to get my body right before I committed to a major league club and definitely feeling pretty close to 100 per cent.
"I am looking forward to have a very strong pre-season and getting myself in the best shape to go again next season."
Dunn said the club was rapt to sign the former Geelong Football League star and believed his inclusion would help the club experience on-field success.
The Hamilton coach was also excited for Dare to work with the club's young players.
"Getting someone with his experience and with what he has achieved in his football we think he will be a real asset for us," he said.
"We see him as the number one ruckman in the competition and to be able to guide some of our young talls that we've got at the club and really help take control of our midfield group.
"Being a GFL premiership player and four years on a VFL list he has learnt a lot and hopefully he can push some of that into our young players and help us take that next step as a genuine finals contender."
Dare said he left Cobden on good terms and wished the club all the best for the future.
