On Saturday Kylie Auldist will perform some of her latest tracks before a live audience at Warrnambool’s late-night music venue The Loft.
Fresh off her European success with remix No Use, the vivacious soul singer will join collaborator Warren Hunter and drummer Jeremy Shifton on stage from 8pm.
Having returned from touring the Bamboos new album which included concerts with Robbie Williams, Ms Auldist is now keen to enjoy some country hospitality in regional Victoria.
“I can’t believe I’ve never done a gig down there before, “ she said. “I’m pretty excited.Someone’s being kind to me.”
Ms Auldist, who sang at James Packer's wedding alongside Barnesy and Elton John, said after years of travelling she’s happy to be taking a break.
“I’m a country girl at heart,” she said. “The last few years I’ve been travelling all round the world but now I’m just having a sit still which is very nice and it means you write more music.”
Ms Auldist will perform some of new songs for her weekend audience.
“I’m writing an album now,” she said. It’s a work in progress. It probably won’t be ready until January but we’re going to spring these new tracks on you unsuspecting folk in Warrnambool.”
Kylie Auldist is described by her critics as ‘at centre stage of the funk, soul and disco scene in Australia’
She has also been described as the voice of the 2016 European summer after smash hit This Girl by Kungs vs Cookin’ on 3 Burners.
In 2016 she took out the award for Best Album in the funk soul category at The Age Music Victoria Awards.
