Bombers president Justin Balmer said a meeting was held on Tuesday night to address the state of the Reid Oval-based club after rumours had circulated about its future.
He also confirmed coach Danny Chatfield would be at the helm of the Bombers’ top grade football side for a third season.
“Danny has recommitted for next season,” he said. “I spoke to him last night and again this morning and everything is positive with him.
“He said the rumours that he was retiring or resigned are untrue and he is staying on next season.”
The meeting was split into three groups – players and recruiting, finances and volunteers – to allow all bases to be covered during the night.
“We had 40 people attend (the meeting) and it was all positive,” Balmer said.
“People have put their hands up to help out and we are busily recruiting (players and lower grade coaches).
“One of the questions was ‘are we playing on the Reid Oval?’ The answer is yes we definitely are so now it is onwards and upwards for the club.”
The Bombers are currently seeking an A grade netball coach and former senior football mentor Paul Hrabar has put his hand up to lead the under 17.5 side, which is a high priority focus for the club after not fielding one in 2018.
“We are looking for commitments from our present players and any past players that are more then welcome to come back,” Balmer said.
