Good mates Jack Williams and Jason Robinson, both 23, want to help the Magpies better their grand final appearance of last season.
The Melbourne-based duo played a key role in the Magpies’ rise, teaming up as part of a formidible back six.
“I think we have unfinished business,” Williams said.
“We got so close and we’re only a couple of key players away from winning a flag.
“I have been at the club five years now and I love the club so it would have been hard to leave even though I live in Melbourne. It’s like a family to me now.”
Williams and Robinson played together at VFL club Werribee.
Both have committed full-time to Camperdown next year.
“He really enjoyed coming down and the club was welcoming to him too,” Williams said of Robinson.
The pair hope to build on the foundations set last season.
Camperdown will start its pre-season on November 22.
“The plan is for the Melbourne-based blokes to train together,” Williams said.
“The Camperdown and city boys will have the same program so everyone will be on the same fitness level.
“We had Saturday sessions last year (in pre-season) where we met at Torquay as a whole group and that worked well.
“I can’t see much changing from the pre-season set-up.”
