The 28-year-old, who is averaging 19.5 points, six assists and three rebounds from the opening four games, was one of four Adelaide 36ers to be named in the squad announced on Friday.
The Boomers face Iran and Qatar at Margaret Court Arena on November 30 and December 3.
Boomers head coach Andrej Lemanis said the squad had to make most of its opportunity in the second-last qualifying phase before next year’s tournament.
“This will be another important window for us,” he said.
“As we have spoken about all along, the group remains fluid. It has been great to see the impact of some of the younger guys in the early rounds of the NBL and it is nice to be able to recognise that with their inclusion in to the extended team of 24.”
This weekend Sobey and his 36ers teammates, who are locked on two wins and two losses, will be hoping to continue their early season form in an away double-header.
Adelaide travels first to Cairns to take on the Taipans on Friday before jetting over to New Zealand to face the Breakers on Sunday.
