Perry was one of two south-west players in the team with Hamilton’s Matt Walkenhorst also playing a role in the thrilling one-point victory at Mount Gambier, with Portland’s Clint Foster assisting the Mortlake-based Snowden.
The 18-year-old the win was a perfect send off to Snowden who is set to retire from the Western District Golf Association after more than three decades.
"It was a great feeling," he said.
"You could see it when we won and John's feelings (showed) he was absolutely stoked.
"And good on him he puts in a lot of hard work and I am happy for him and I am glad the team could get the win for John's last year.
"I would like to thank John for all of his help and what he has done for me and everyone else in the south-west"
Victoria Country claimed honours over its cross-border rivals for the first time in two years.
Perry, who lived in Mount Gambier, said his knowledge of the course became an advantage to both him and his teammates who he gave tips to.
"After six or seven years of playing everyday at one course you kind of know it back to front," he said.
"Knowing the greens and the course is such an advantage to have and definitely helped me a lot.
"There was a few locals playing in the South Australian side and you could see how much it was helping them knowing where to go and what putts and what greens.”
