The show has been condensed from its usual three-day format to a ‘Super Saturday’ which will provide a feast of family entertainment.
Show senior vice president Jason Callaway said the entertainment would include Saturday night’s Rooftop Express arena spectacular with animals doing tricks on top of a truck.
Other entertainment will include whip cracking, stilt walking, wood chopping and fire juggling.
“People will get value for money,” Mr Callaway said.
Fierce competitive spirit in the shearing contests on Saturday will also be on display and a cattlemen’s bar has been erected at the rear of the shearing pavilion where people can have a drink and enjoy the show atmosphere.
A dog high jump, demonstrations of sheep dogs showing their prowess and a home brew competition will add to the fun.
Mr Callaway said local and school bands would also perform throughout the day on a music stage.
Showbag stalls and sideshow alley will operate but there will be no fireworks on Saturday night.
Mr Callaway said the fireworks had been scrapped because many people were watching them without entering the showgrounds.
Events for children will include a petting zoo and a display of native animals.
The decision to scale back from a three-day event to one for the entertainment section follows years of dwindling support from showgoers.
The horse events will still run for four days while the beef cattle competition will run on Saturday and the dairy cattle competition on Saturday and Sunday.
Sheep, fleece and poultry competitions will take place on Saturday.
Entertainment will include the Rooftop Express arena spectacular, whip cracking, stilt walking, wood chopping and fire juggling.

Mr Callaway said entries in many of the show competitions were still open.
Show president Rachel Alexander said the committee’s aim had been to pack the showgrounds “from fence to fence so that anyone that comes in has plenty to see and plenty to do”.
