DRUG raids across Warrnambool and Terang have resulted in seven people being charged with offences and two appearing in court.
Detective Acting Sergeant Blake Amos, of Warrnambool crime investigation unit, said specialist units and uniform members from across the region had executed five search warrants on Friday morning.
"Seven persons of interest have been arrested," he said, adding accused people would be charged with drug and weapon offences.
Acting Sergeant Amos said quantities of ice and cannabis had been seized.
"This has been a great coordinated effort from police members all around the region in order to disrupt criminal activity in Warrnambool," he said.
"This should send a message to the community that we will not tolerate those who possess and traffic drugs of dependence and we will catch up with them eventually,” he said.
A Terang woman already charged with trafficking cannabis, after being caught with 1.2 kilograms of the drug in her car, has now been charged with dealing again after police raided her home.
Fiona Hull, (also now known as Fiona Wright), 47, of Spring Dam Road, successfully applied for bail in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court late Friday afternoon.
She was bailed to appear back in court on November 15.
Warrnambool police, specialist police and a drug dog raided Ms Hull's home on Friday morning at 8.40am.
They found a white container holding 600 grams of cannabis in a wardrobe and two zip lock bags with smaller amounts in the laundry.
Ms Hull was asleep in the eastern bedroom of the home and her sister was also present at the address.
Other drugs were seized in other parts of the house.
Ms Hull initially denied knowledge of the drugs and said a son had been in her bedroom and the drugs must have been his.
But, in an interview with police she admitted the drugs belonged to her.
"It's mine, I'm a smoker and it's personal use," she said.
Ms Hull is already on bail, with a $3000 surety, charged with trafficking and possessing cannabis, dealing with property suspected of being the proceeds of crime.
She appeared in court on July 20 after 1.257kgs of cannabis was found in her car.
Police opposed bail on Friday saying Ms Hull was an unacceptable risk of continuing to offend as she had previously been charged with trafficking cannabis and was still dealing drugs.
She also has nine prior cannabis-related offences for cultivating, possessing and using cannabis.
In Warrnambool 18-year-old Jakob Gingell, of Carmell Drive, was also charged with trafficking cannabis.
Late on Friday afternoon he was remanded in custody after an unsuccessful bail application until next Tuesday, when he is book in to pleaded guilty to offences.
Mr Gingell’s new charges include trafficking, possessing and using cannabis, dealing in property suspected of being the proceeds of crime and committing an offence while on bail.
On July 18 he was charged with causing damage and bailed to appear in court on Friday, October 19.
At 8.20am on Friday police raided his home and found a total of 61 grams of cannabis.
He told police there was two ounces in the kitchen as well as three zip lock bags of cannabis and two sets of scales.
A Samsung Galaxy phone box in a bedroom contained $560 that police believe had been derived from the scale of cannabis.
A black wallet on a coffee table contained $170.
He has been in court previously for drug and dishonesty offences.
Police said Mr Gingell had not been cooperative and refused to provide a PIN for his mobile phone.
They said they had evidence of Mr Gingell's drug-related messages from his associates and believed he was selling drugs to support his drug habit and lifestyle.
A police officer said Mr Gingell was not working, or receiving social security benefits, but was still paying his mother rent.
When interviewed by police officers Mr Gingell admitted he had intended to sell the cannabis.
Other police raids were conducted on Friday at Wooles Avenue, McGregors Road and Landmann Street with five people being charged and bailed to appear in court during January.
