Robertson will coach Russells Creek’s A grade netball team, backing up from a successful 2018. In what was her first season as coach, Robertson led the Kangaroos to their first finals appearance in more than a decade.
The Kangaroos lost the elimination final to Old Collegians but Robertson said a strong foundation had been laid.
“We will go into next season aiming to play finals again,” she said.
“There is certainly a confidence that we can continue to play finals and not fall back into the pack.”
Robertson spent the vast majority of 2018 as a non-playing coach, a knee injury ending her season after two games. She is expecting to be fit for round one and to take her place in the midcourt as an hands-on leader.
At 25, Robertson will be one of the Kangaroos’ older players, with a young team building around her.
“We brought through a lot of juniors this season and that is something we will continue to do,” she said.
“We are also chasing some recruits, which we should get decisions from by November or December.”
