Marketing officer Julia Worrall said the day included course information, free demonstrations across the Warrnambool campus, market and food stalls, live music, a jumping castle, face painting, a farmyard and more.
“We’re completely opening our doors to everyone,” Miss Worrall said. “No matter whether you’re a student, a prospective student or parent or just want to come and see what we offer.”
She said the day was a chance to see the TAFE facilities and talk to teachers and support staff about the different courses and options available. “If you're not sure about what you want to do, you might be finishing school or something else and need a change, or you might not even be sure (what you want to study), come and have a chat."
She said there were SW TAFE and independent career advisors in the Skills and Jobs Centre, who can help with career advice, resumes or interview skills, would also be available on the day. "Every study area will have an activation and someone to talk to so whether you're interested in a certain course or not quite sure what you want to do, you can talk to them and they can help you."
The 2019 course guide and information about the free TAFE courses on offer next year will be available. It’s on Sunday from 10am to 2pm at the campus in Timor Street.
