Detective Senior Constable Elissa Smith, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said unknown offenders broke into a Fairfax Avenue property between 7am and 1pm on Wednesday.
She said a 2010 Black Holden Commodore sedan, with registration plates AWL-968, was stolen.
The vehicle was parked in the rear yard of the property and the keys for the sedan were taken from the home while the occupant was away.
