Mark Joseph Alberts, 28, of Botantic Road, made an unsuccessful bail application in Warrnambool Magistrates Court and was remanded in custody until November 12 for a contest mention.
He is charged with handling proceeds of crime and drug-related offences.
In August Mr Alberts was sentenced to 60 days in jail for trafficking prescription medication as well as possessing ice and amphetamine.
He spent 32 days on remand in custody and was released in late September.
On Tuesday Mr Alberts was arrested at a Warrnambool’s service station about midday. Police said the accused was observed leaving a Kelp Street address known to be associated with drugs.
He jumped into the rear passenger seat of a Holden Commodore, which entered the service station before it was intercepted by police.
A search of the vehicle located $2685 in cash in Mr Alberts’ wallet as well as 1.33 grams of ice in a zip lock bag that was wedged between the floor and the back seat where he was sitting.
Mr Alberts told police his mother had withdrawn the cash from his bank account at the time of his release from jail. He denied ownership of the drugs.
The court heard the accused had previously been charged with 11 counts of breaching bail.
Magistrate Jon Klestadt said he was not satisfied that Mr Alberts would not commit further offences on bail.
