This year the event will move to Flagstaff Hill, in conjunction with a open day at the historic village.
“We outgrew the Civic Green” event coordinator Bonnie Lucas said.
Running as part of Children’s Week, activities will include a range of sensory play activities such as rainbow oats, slime, a tomato squish, and cooked and coloured spaghetti, and “mud, plain old mud,” Mrs Lucas said.
Kids are encouraged to wear old clothes so they can dig into the activities.
“They will be allowed to get extra messy than they are normally allowed,” she said.
Face painting, a jumping castle, and a child focused market will also be part of the event. Paw Patrol’s Chase will also make a special guest appearance. Entry to the Messy Play Day will be free, thanks to grants from Warrnambool City Council and the Victorian Department of Education.
Messy Play Day will run from 11.00am until 2.30pm.
Lux Slime recipe:
1 cup lux soap flakes
1 cup of hot water
10 drops of food colouring (optional)
