The Wharf, operated by brothers and chefs Sean and Wayne Malady, had a soft opening on Saturday with visitors and locals making the most of the weekend’s fine conditions. “We did it quietly,” Sean said. “It was a huge weekend which was great. We opened the doors on Saturday for lunch and away we went.”
Sean spent a decade at the Cally and the Whalers hotels in Warrnambool and six years working in Apollo Bay, while Wayne has 30 years of hospitality experience, running a hotel and a bed and breakfast in Apollo Bay. “We’re happy to be open and are looking forward to working with the community.”
