For the first time, a family-friendly community concert headlined by Deb Conway and Willy Zygier will be held on the Cobden Recreation Reserve on Saturday night.
Committee secretary Nicole Morris encouraged people to bring along a picnic and a chair to relax and enjoy the entertainment.
“Tickets will be available on the gate,” she said.
Other new events include a junior disco in the Uniting Church hall from 3.30pm on Saturday afternoon and the Colour Blast colour run on Sunday.
“The colour run will be a boost at the end of the much loved fun run,” Mrs Morris said. Participants will walk or run a 1.6km course around the Cobden Technical School.
A number of favorite events will be returning this year including the Friday night junior fishing competition, the orchid show and the duck race. Entertainers the Mik Maks will also star in two performances on Saturday.
The street parade will again be a feature event, with the floats that best represent the theme of ‘Spring, Regrowth and Community’ being recognised with awards.
The focus of the festival will move to Pioneer Park on Sunday, with a pet parade, the Historical Society and the South Western District Restoration group all on show.
Mrs Morris said a range of local community groups were contributing to the organisation of the festival.
“We have got really good community support”.
