The centre is running a drive to collect ‘back to school’ packs filled with goodies for school-aged children. Goodstart Early Learning Centre kindergarten teacher Lisbeth Cheach said she wanted to help those who were doing it tough. She got in contact with Warrnambool woman Ann Vickery, who suggested creating the back to school packs.
Mrs Vickery led a drive for feed and supplies for drought-affected families earlier this year with Bade Ness Rural.
“We thought it was a great idea,” Ms Cheach said. “They need school supplies. We are very happy to give back to the community and help the farmers doing it tough.”
The backpacks will contain a pair of socks, a pencil case with pens and pencils, books and notepads and a lunch box. Anyone can make their own pack and drop it off to the centre on Whites Road, Warrnambool.
