Onballer Aaron Shepherd has confirmed he will remain at the Hanlon Park-based club. Shepherd’s decision comes after the 19-year-old’s win in the Tigers senior best-and-fairest award.
The 2018 season was Shepherd’s first full foray into senior football, playing all 18 games. Prior to this season, his senior opportunities had been limited due to time spent at the Greater Western Victoria Rebels.
Shepherd said he enjoyed returning to his home club.
“It was certainly more team focused,” Shepherd said.
“I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was able to go okay and get a few kicks. I’m probably more of a running midfielder with a licence to go forward.”
Shepherd believes the Tigers are well placed.
“The young blokes are getting games into them and we have some experienced players coming back so it’s looking good,” he said.
