The Warrnambool Badminton Association held its Junior Development Tournament at The Arc.
More than 40 players took part from badminton associations in Warrnambool, Melbourne and Ballarat.
Warrnambool Badminton Association junior coordinator Tiah Drake said the tournament was a huge success.
“We were thrilled with how it went, it was a great event,” Drake said.
“The standard of play was really high and there were a lot of close games.”
While numbers were strong for the junior development tournament, Drake said the association would love to recruit some more players.
She said badminton has plenty to offer.
“Our numbers are okay but we could always do with more,” she said.
“It’s a sport that keeps you very active but one where there are not a lot of injures.
“It is also an excellent way to hone hand-eye coordination.”
Warrnambool Badminton Association is in action at The Arc every Friday from 5.30-7.15pm with new players welcome.
