The club is holding its second annual come and try day at the Thunder Point track, meeting at the club rooms near the harness racing track, from 11am on Sunday.
Events committee member Shaun King said the club was eager to eclipse the 140 riders it had at last year’s day and encouraged punters to give the sport a trial.
“All they need is themselves, a bike and a helmet and they can come and try it out,” he said.
“It’s a good day for newcomers to come and try the sport. Mountain biking is a good way to keep fit and active and also have some fun.”

The club were targeting possible riders between the ages of 8 and 18.
The come and try day is the first of three upcoming events for the WMBC.
On October 20 the club is holding its Mount Clay Classic, which kicks off at 1pm at the Narrawong-based track.
Following the Classic is the TP180 race on November 4, which will include team and solo races running from the Thunder Point bike track at 11am. The club will also run a junior program with skilled instructors every Thursday at 4.30pm in the summer school holidays at Thunder Point.
