Club president Noel Black confirmed Sarah McCorkell will not coach the Seagulls in 2019. It was a one-year coaching stint from McCorkell, who played in the Seagulls’ open flag in 2016.
Port Fairy open grade 2018 best-and-fairest winner Carly Watson paid tribute to McCorkell.
“You learn from every coach you play under and I certainly did learn a lot from Sarah,” Watson said.
“It was a tough season with players coming in and out at different times so I think we did well to make the preliminary final. We probably just need to get a bit more depth next year which would help our consistency.”
Watson’s win in the best and fairest adds to an amazing record. The 19- year-old has won the last three Port Fairy club best-and-fairest awards and in 2016 won the Hampden league award.
Watson is keen to keep improving her game.
“I enjoy my netball and I put a bit of work into it,” she said.
