The club has announced Richardson as its netball coach for 2019. She replaces Sharon Kenna, who led the Magpies to nine wins and nine losses in 2018 to finish in sixth place on the ladder.
Richardson said she is looking forward to her first stint as Camperdown coach.
“We have a really good base and hopefully we can build on that next year,” Richardson.
“The aim will be to keep gelling together as a team, the more we play together, the more settled we will be.”
Richardson said the club will be actively looking to improve its team from within and also through recruiting.
“We will be looking at all our options, it will be an exciting journey,” Richardson said.
“We weren’t far off this year, losing a few close games we could have won.”
Richardson, 32, has been at Camperdown since 2015, having come across from Mininera and District league club Wickliffe-Lake Bolac.
She was a member of Camperdown’s runners-up teams in 2015 and 2017, missing the 2016 grand final after having her daughter, Willow.
