Organiser Lois McKenzie said this year’s theme was A Story To Tell and there would be 26 different floral arrangements displayed around the historic church.
Local floral groups, clubs and businesses arrange the flowers according to the theme, which changes annually, and varies depending on the different groups’ interpretations.
Reverend Robyn Shackell said the creativity of event entries continued to attract people each year. “It’s amazing the things people come up with,” Reverend Shackell said. “Someone’s doing a display on teddy bears and I’m doing mine on The Very Hungry Caterpillar with butterflies and silk worms.”
The event, which is on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 4pm, also includes book and plant stalls and Devonshire tea. The annual festival is a fundraiser for the church which is on the corner of Koroit and Henna streets, Warrnambool.
