The Panmure keeper-batsman has been appointed head coach of the Western Waves under 21 team ahead of its two-game series in October.
Bryce, who will guide some of the best young players from across the south-west region, said he was open-minded about where the new role could lead him.
"As far as it will take me," he said.
"You just never know what might come in the future if you try these things. If people spot you and think you are doing the right thing you never know what might happen after that.
"So hopefully in the future that job does pop up when and wherever it may be.
"But coaching a team like Western Waves is something I've always wanted to do and have thought about it for a while, I just had to wait for the opportunity to come up and now I am excited about it."
It will be the 34-year-old’s first coaching role within the talent pathway program, though he has experience coaching the Yambuk Cricket Club and Grassmere Cricket Association’s colts team.
Bryce said he felt he had plenty to offer the talented group and would simply remind them to make the most of the opportunity.
"It is going to be a great challenge working with the top end kids from around the district and it is exciting," he said.
"I want them to go out and express themselves.
"It is up to them how far they want to push themselves, but I will just encourage them to be free in what they do.
"And I just want to pass on some of my experience I suppose. I have been around a little while now so I am keen to pass on what I know and hopefully they can learn a bit from that."
Bryce and the Western Waves have chosen an initial 26-man squad which is set to be cut back to approximately 14 players in early October.
