Ross made alterations in 2018, including condensing the three best and fairests counts into two, as he settled into the role.

“I certainly want to put my hat into go again next year,” he said.

“You can’t do much in one year. I’ve got big plans for next year, plus a strategic plan for five years.”

Ross said Saturday’s grand final at Reid Oval was a success. A large crowd, owing to the involvement of town-based clubs Camperdown, Koroit, Port Fairy, Terang Mortlake and Cobden – flocked through the gates.

“The dollar figure was the same as last year but there must have been sun out and a few more out on the hill (because the crowd seemed bigger),” he said.

“We were very happy with the crowd. Everyone was well behaved and we didn’t have one incident.”
