The Roosters were without two of its top aged players due to a school trip.
But a gutsy performance saw them prove too good for North Warrnambool to be crowned the 17 and under premiers, winning 41-35.
Coach Gill Hermann said she always had full confidence in the players who took the court.
"We had Hannah Loveday and Lauren Zanker missing, they were off in France on a french trip with Emmanuel (College) and North had Chelsea Quinn missing.
"So to take three top age girls out of the two teams in a grand final is hard, but i thought everyone on the court stepped up to cover them.
"We missed them, but it is sport and life goes on, and we won without them so we are rapt."
The Roosters were forced to fight the whole game, which included many lead changes, and Hermann said her team showed great composure.
"Our theme was teamwork and we perfected that today," she said.
"A group of girls that just worked hard, did the little things and just really deserved to win.
"North were good, it was just one of those games where it ebbed and flowed.
"You just had to stay in the moment and keep control of the ball and I thought our girls did that really well in the end. I thought their focus and control was what won it in the end."
