A teenage boy has been arrested and chlorine gas seized following an incident at a Warrnambool secondary school on Thursday.

Detective Acting Sergeant Blake Amos, of Warrnambool crime investigation unit, said police and CFA were called to the school following an incident that prompted safety checks to be carried out.
"Safety checks were conducted and the area was deemed safe," he said.
"There was no risk to teachers, students or anyone attending the school.
"We are unable to disclose any more information about the incident at this time."
A 15-year-old boy was later arrested at a Warrnambool property and the gas was seized.
Detective Acting Sergeant Amos said the boy was charged with reckless conduct endangering life, theft and weapon offences.
The boy was bailed to appear before a children's court at a later date.
