There will be an alcohol free area with children’s activities, a food and drink vendors precinct and marquee shelter for fans to watch the action from.
The league, in conjunction with the Warrnambool City Council and Warrnambool police, revealed the plans.
The new layout features:
- An alcohol free area, designed with families in mind, will be on offer including activities for children.
- A range of food options will be available on both sides of the oval, with a new precinct that will service both football and netball fans in a location convenient to both.
- A number of marquees will be set up along the eastern wing of the oval, and fans are encouraged to make use of the shelter they will provide.
- The area between the netball courts and the oval will be pedestrian traffic only, allowing fans to move freely between to the two key viewing areas.
In an online statement the league advised fans looking to park inside the venue to arrive early on Saturday morning as the number of car parks was significantly reduced from previous years.
It said a “substantial amount of parking” was available in the wider Albert Park precinct.
Warrnambool police acting Sergeant Danny Wright said there would be visible police presence at Reid Oval on Saturday.
“We will be targeting anti-social behaviour and alcohol related offences,” he said.
“Make sure you be responsible, moderate your alcohol intake and be respectful of others.”
