LEVI DARE (COBDEN)
“It’s a tough one to pick. Camperdown is the in-form team and has the momentum but Koroit just know how to win the big games. Koroit should win but Camperdown is full of confidence so I don’t think it will be a blow-out. Cameron Spence and Jesse Gallichan get Camperdown going so they will be important.
“Koroit has so many good players and a lot of quality up forward, which makes them hard to defend.”
MATT DUNN (HAMILTON KANGAROOS)
“In a big game, Koroit has that edge in experience. When the game is on the line they more often than not get the job done. If it’s tight in the last quarter then I think Koroit will win.
“Camperdown will need a really even effort from their first to their 21st player, they will need to bring a lot of pressure from the start.”
GRAEME TWADDLE (NORTH WARRNAMBOOL EAGLES)
“The big ground will suit Koroit. They use the ball so well and play that keepings-off game better than anyone else. Camperdown will have to try and take away Koroit’s space but on the Reid Oval it’s a lot harder to defend. Koroit spreads so well and they use the whole ground. Camperdown can’t let the Koroit forwards have a big impact or the game could be gone quickly.”
DAN NICHOLSON (PORT FAIRY)
“Koroit will find a way to get up. The bigger ground will suit them, they can get choked a little on the smaller grounds.
“Camperdown are very good at scoring and they will need to generate that rebound run from half back. It’s a grand final so you never know, it will come down to whoever plays better on the day.”
LUKE CRANE (PORTLAND)
“I can’t go past Koroit, they have been there and done that a fair few times. When Camperdown beat Koroit over here (Portland) in the second semi-final, they took their chances and really made Koroit work hard.
“They have a good mix of inside midfielders and outside runners which gives them a chance of an upset. It should be interesting.”
MAT BUCK (SOUTH WARRNAMBOOL)
"Koroit. I think they will be a bit stung from the last time they played Camperdown, they will be a lot harder around the ball this time around.
“If Camperdown are to win they will have to kick a big score, 90-100 points.
“If Koroit is still in the hunt going into the last quarter then they are almost certainties given their experience."
MICHAEL SARGEANT (TERANG MORTLAKE)
"I think Koroit will win in what should be a close game. Koroit has been the best team all season and generally the best side wins the grand final.
“For Camperdown to win, first and foremost they will have to slow down Koroit’s ball movement and then make them defend.
“You can’t let Koroit get uncontested and intercept marks. Of course, that’s easier said than done.”
MATTHEW O’BRIEN (WARRNAMBOOL)
“It will be a high standard game between two really good teams. Camperdown has great speed and intensity and the big, dry ground will play to their advantage. When they beat us early in the year, their attack without hesitation off half-back was hard to counter. To beat Koroit you have to match them all over the ground and pressure the ball carrier because they have elite disposal.”
