PARK(ing) Day is set to hit the city with car parks to be transformed into creative places for people, not cars.
On PARK(ing) Day the car park is still hired and money is placed in the meter, but instead of using the land to park a car, it is used to create an opportunity for social interaction through a wide range of activations and installations.
Installations in other cities have included free health clinics, art galleries, public parks, demonstration gardens, outdoor games, public reading rooms and recycling centres.
PARK(ing) Day will run from 10am to 2pm with set-ups to be contained within a single car space, be enclosed and leave no permanent marks on the car park.
To get involved contact the Warrnambool City Council economic development team at ecodev@warrnambool.vic.gov.au or on 5559 4800.
